Justice Enebeli, a judge in the Federal High Court in Rivers state, has sentenced Samuel Timothy, an officer of the Nigeria Police Force to death by hanging for shooting and killing Nwasouba a graduate of Industrial Chemistry who hawked sachet water to make ends meet.
Excerpts from his judgement read thus:
“According to Section 319 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of
Nigeria, I do not have the power to reduce your sentence. That you,
Inspector Timothy Samuel be hanged on your neck until you are dead,”
Nwasouba was killed on November 10th, 2010.
May God rest the soul of the deceased and continue to give our judges the will to deliver justice without delay.
