MY LAGOS EXPERIENCE: ONCE BEATEN, TWICE SHY

It was my first time at the notorious Oshodi Bus Stop after marking my first month anniversary in Lagos state, Nigeria's commercial capital. That was in 2011. It was a period when the spate of pilfering and gangsterism around that area was at its lowest ebbs yet some guy felt he could pull a fast one on me.
Tried he did but failed he did too. He had hardly taken a couple steps away when I felt my pocket and realized my wallet had changed custody but I was lucky as there were other vigilant commuters who were weary of the young man's 'kurukere' moves and kept an eye on him.
Hei! was my scream and 'poom', 'gbam', 'kwak', and 'ole' were the punches and screams that followed and within seconds the  pilferer's face had changed make-up.
For me this was both a welcome-to-Lagos attempt and a call to always shine my eyes.

That was My Lagos Experience. Do you mind sharing yours ? Feel free to.
