The Central Bank of Nigeria has clearly indicated it has no intentions of further devaluing the country's currency. The position of the regulatory bank was made known by its governor on Friday.
While speaking to journalists, Godwin Emefiele said that the naira was last devalued in February from 155 to197. He said "there is no intention to adjust or devalue the naira any longer".
I would be recalled that there have been repeated calls especially from a former governor of the bank, Lamido Sanusi for the devaluation of the naira.
