ORUBEBE TO FACE TRIAL AT CODE OF CONDUCT TRIBUNAL

The CCT has fixed November 9 as date to commence the trial of a former minister and stalwart of the opposition People's Democratic Party.
The charges brought against Godsday Orubebe borders on false declaration of assets and collection of monetary inducement in the award of contracts by the ministry of  Niger Delta affairs where he held sway as minister until 2011.
In the notice for his trial  filed on October 8 by Peter Danladi of the CCT on behalf of the Attorney General of the Federation, Orubebe is accused of non-declaration of his properties in Kyamu and Asokoro Districts both in Abuja as well as the collection of over fifty million naira from one Pastor Jonathan Alota of Chemtronics, to influence the award of some contracts in Edo state.
