Reports have emerged that the Nigeria Customs Service will soon retire another 400 of its officers in the continuing efforts at sanitising the service. The affected officers would be retired for offences ranging from absenteeism, indiscipline, insubordination to corruption.
Investigations revealed that some of the officers had influenced their promotions to higher ranks when they were not due for such promotions while some more had refused redeployments to other stations by simply obtaining letters from top politicians directing the authorities at the service to jettison moves at such redeployments.
Let the 'cleansing' continue.
