The senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has rejected proposal by the Buhari led government to pay Nigerian graduates five thousand monthly allowance to cushion the effect of the harsh realities they face consequent upon endemic unemployment in the country.
A motion to that effect was pushed by Senator Philip Aduda (PDP, FCT) but was met with screams of "no, no" when he tried to explain it. Attempts by Godswill Apkabio another PDP Senator to second the motion was met with similar reaction.
And when the President of the Senate presented the motion for a voice vote, the votes were divided along party lines.
