PDP TO DOKPESI: YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN

The spokesperson of the People's Democratic Party, Olisah Metuh has  disowned Ray Dokpesi Chairman of the party's planned national conference over an apology he made on behalf of the party.

Metuh claimed that the opinion expressed by Ray was strictly his personal opinion and did not in anyway reflect the position of the party and that the party did not regret its decision to allow Goodluck Jonathan run for presidency in 2011.  Said he  “how can you regret a decision taken when everyone was there, the NWC, NEC and the national caucus? “the Constitution of the party allows a sitting president the chance to exercise his personal right to run for a second term if he so desires.’’

Olisah also claimed that the decision to field Jonathan had the sanction of all of the party's hierarchy “What are we talking about? Everybody was conscious of the decision; nobody was coerced into supporting the position.”

He however noted that rather than pass bucks, this time should be used by the party to reposition herself for the future, “We are repositioning our party. What we should do is to join hands to reposition PDP based on Sen. Ike Ekweremadu’s report to reclaim the party’s lost glory. This is what is expected of us all at this time,’’

Hmmm....Drama shall never end.
