SENATE SCREENING:IT'S NOT YET UHURU! FOR SARAKI

Reports have emerged that although members of Saraki's camp in the senate had worked hard to ensure the confirmation of the ministerial nominees particularly the controversial  ex-governor of Rivers state, Chibuike Amaechi  albeit amid protest from PDP senators, an end to Saraki's travails at the CCT seems no where in sight.

A senior party member revealed that although Saraki and other APC senators had facilitated the nominees' confirmation, the party may however not interfere in his trial at the CCT as this may mirror a wrong image to the public especially since the president's anti-corruption stand has become a global slogan. In his own words,
“If the party should say one word with respect to this issue at this point, it could be misinterpreted in ways that you cannot imagine.
“You may recall, President Muhammadu Buhari had said it over and over again that he would not spare even his party members if they were found guilty of corruption.
“Former President (Olusegun) Obasanjo received accolades from far and near when he did not spare (Adolphus) Wagbara, some senators and an Inspector-General of Police who served in his government in his (Obasanjo’s) anti-corruption war.
“What makes you think Buhari will be different? It won’t happen.”
The senior party member was of the opinion that had Saraki stalled the confirmation of the nominees, the rift between him, the senate and the presidency would have been furthered widened.

Indeed politics is a game and it's played by politicians.
