Emmanuel Amuneke, handler of the Nigerian U-17 side has engineered a new tactic in football that has got the FIFA Technical Study Group (TSG) left in wonderment. The Nigeria youth team has brought a new approach to soccer with varied styles and deployment of players when 'having or not having the ball'.
Speaking on the behalf of the TSG, Desmond Curry said “Sincerely, we (TSG panel) have tried to understand the tactics you are using but it is confusing,” Curry further said "I have done some of your matches here but it is unusual to see a Number 10 (Kelechi Nwakali) playing deep as much as we have seen your player here.
“This is a new trend and we are going to include some of your explanations in the Technical Report of the championship because the tactical approach of your team stands out,”
The TSG is saddled with the responsibility with continual improvement of the game of football. It was introduced at the 1966 FIFA World Cup in England and had Sunday Oliseh on its panel at FIFA U-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
