TANZANIANS MARK INDEPENDENCE THROUGH ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION

It was their country's 54th independence anniversary and as part of the celebrations, Tanzanians picked up their brooms and shovels to clean up their environments.

This was in response to a demand by Dr. John Pombe Magafuli, the country's president, for the people to use the day to clean up their environments. He was not left out of the exercise as he also picked up his own tools to clean.
