President Muhammadu Buhari has announced that some of the confirmed ministers that will constitute his long awaited cabinet will function without portfolio. He made the declaration when he received the list of the remaining ministers recently confirmed by the senate from its president, Bukola Saraki.
The reason for this decision according to Buhari was to reflect the current economic realities the country is confronted with. The president insisted that the country only mandates that the federal cabinet must be composed of a minister from all states of the federation but did not mandate the existence of thirty six ministries.
Minister without portfolio? Seems am gonna be witnessing this for the first time.
