A highway sweeper with the Lagos State Waste Management Agency, LAWMA, has been crushed to death by an over speeding driver. The driver, a military personnel, was said to be on high speed when the tyre of his Peugeot car eventually burst leading to the accident.
The driver himself was said to have sustained serious injuries and was unconscious before been rushed to hospital in a tricycle popularly known as 'keke Marwa'.
Those who witnessed the incidence accounts that the highway sweeper was flung several metres away as a result of the impact of the hit. She was described by co-workers as dedicated and passionately about her job despite the meagre pay.
The incidenve occured around Kam Salem House, the police Headquarters annex at Obalende, Lagos state.
