SCORES DIE IN MULTIPLE SUICIDE BOMBING IN MAIDUGURI

Two suicide attacks have left in its wake several dead and injured persons in Maiduguri the capital of Borno state.

The first bomb went off at a mosque while the second went off at Buraburin. Both attacks were carried out by teenage girls.

According to a witness, Abudllahi,  “A man saw two girls walking around and he tried to caution them to be careful as it was dangerous for them to be wandering when the two girls detonated themselves, killing the man and some other persons”.

Continuing, he said “Since last night, residents have been finding undetonated bombs believed to have been abandoned by Boko Haram gunmen.

“We are under siege and we don’t know how many of these bombs or these female suicide bombers were sneaked into Maiduguri.”

Suicide bombings as well as open gun fighting continue in Borno and a few states in the North East region despite claims by the Minister of Information and spokesman of the ruling APC and president Muhammadu Buhari that Boko Haram had been "technically" defeated by the army.
