The Federal Government of Nigeria has agreed to pay one hundred billion naira out of court settlement in a case instituted against it by Vincent Agu and 19 others.
The plaintiff claimed that the failure of the federal government to clear landmines at a compound on Plot 108 Ndubuisi Kanu Street, New Owerri was a violation of their fundamental rights.
Payment of the settlement claims is been stalled by the non-appointment of an Attorney General by the current adminstration who would sign the terms of the agreement on her behalf.
